How long do you deal with the computer screen every day? Staring at a computer screen for more than two hours a day without a break has the potential to bring Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS).
Eye health expert Dr. Jennifer Ashton explains, CVS can also be caused by the use of handheld devices like the iPhone or iPod to excess. "The most common symptoms are sore eyes, dry or irritated eyes, fatigue, and headaches," he was quoted by the Times of India.
In order to reduce and prevent eye fatigue due to technological devices, Dr. Ashton share some tips.
1. Blinking more often
When looking at a computer screen or digital device, eye blinking is often 2-3 times less than usual. This can lead to dry eye. Blinking more often make tears all sense of vision. Naturally tears are eye medication.
2. Rules 20/20/20
If the job you spend a long time in front of a digital device, use the 20/20/20 technique. Every 20 minutes, take about 20 seconds to see something that is just 20 meters from my seat. These activities allow the eye to rest.
3. Ensure adequate lighting
To help relieve the burden on the eyes, keep the light pointing directly at the object or something you read, not the eye. Adjust the screen position by reducing the reflections from the glare of light near a window or overhead lights.
4. The location of the computer screen
Put the computer screen 15-20 degrees below eye view (about 4-5 inches) measured from the center of the screen and about 20-28 inches from the eye.
Experience usefulness, your eyes will feel more refreshed after that.
